DWTS Season 13 – The Finale

The final show of Season 13 is here and the winner is finally revealed!  The Stars are only two dances away from the Mirror Ball Trophy.  Ricki, J.R., and Rob will compete with their favorite dance of the season and be ranked by the judges: 1st place (30 points), 2nd place (28 points), and 3rd place (26 points).  These points will be added to last night’s scores, along with viewer votes, to determine who will be eliminated first.  Let the games begin!

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough are up first, and danced their super dramatic “Physco” Tango, and it was just as good as the first time!  Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke danced their “Fly Me to the Moon” Fox Trot, and he delivered again.  J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff danced Jive to “Jump Jive ‘an Wail” and it was high energy, but under-delivered for a finale number.  30 points went to Ricki, 28 to J.R., and 26 to Rob.  With all the votes tallied,  Ricki placed 3rd and was eliminated!  Unbelievable!  She was a true champion in my book. Hardworking, tenacious, and consistent!  Congratulations, Ricki!

The show continued with songs from Lady Antebellum and performances from all the Season 13 cast.  The most memorable was “Vogue”, performed by the crazy and always entertaining Carson Kressley.  He finally got to dance with a Chmerkovskiy!  The final two now have to dance an instant Samba by Ricky Martin for their FINAL score, and become the new Dancing with The Stars Champion.  Both Rob and J.R. received a perfect score of 30, so this round was pretty much a wash.  Rob – 113, J.R. – 112.  Only one point difference after 5 dances.  Amazing!

After 10 weeks and a lot of ups and downs, the champion is revealed.   From week 1, my prediction was Ricki and J.R. and they didn’t let me down.  The hardest part this season was picking a favorite.

Well, the viewers voted and you have your new champion – J.R. Martinez!
