Tomorrow night only one will take the Mirror Ball trophy! Good luck Hines, Kirstie, and Chelsea! It is anyone’s game. Tonight each will perform a judge’s choice and the infamous freestyle.
The judges picked a Samba for Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas. They want to see a more sexy and sultry Samba from Chelsea. She was completely focused! Chelsea shimmied and shook, and was right on the music. She left Ms. ‘Disney adorable’ behind for a much more mature dancer. With an almost perfect score of 29, I think she did pretty good!
Samba was also picked for Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Does that make any sense with only three dancers left? The judges say they like the ooz of Kirstie’s Samba, but I think she didn’t look like she was on it. Her moves are always a bit indecisive and unclear, and I would have liked to see her footwork much crisper. It wasn’t good enough for the finals! Score 27.
The judges pick for Hines Ward and Kym Johnson was the Quickstep. Len Goodman wanted to see an improvement on his footwork, and improved he did! His footwork was so much better, but I was also very impressed with his dance frame. He stood tall and made it look effortless! Hines danced from one move to the next seamlessly! Score 29!
Freestyles! – Chelsea and Mark are up first. They went hip, contemporary, and fast! Chelsea and Mark delivered with fast footwork and amazing tricks! Their routine was jammed packed and they handled it beautifully. Though I think they did a great job, I would like to see more “real” dancing mixed in with all the tricks. That being said, she is in it to win it! And the score – 30!
Kirstie came out for her freestyle focused and fierce! They had Rumba, Cha Cha, lifts, and cartwheels! It was a well balanced routine. Oddly enough, the lifts were my favorite part! Overall a great routine, but just short of being 10 worthy. Kirstie doesn’t look like she’s completely in charge of her steps throughout the whole routine. There’s only one more chance for her tomorrow night to get at least one perfect 10. Score – Three 9’s – another 27.
Hines and Kym came out with a freestyle show fit for a half time show! They delivered a show stopping performance in spite of Kym’s neck injury last week. The lifts were unbelievable and of course Hines brought on the charm as always. With a perfect score of 30, what else is there to say!
Way back in the beginning I made some predictions… I thought Kirstie was surprisingly natural, but I didn’t see her making it to the finals. I was wrong, but I do think she will be eliminated next. Hines was cool, smooth, and a real contender. I think he was so consistent from week to week and dance to dance, but should get runner up. I said Chelsea was ‘Disney Adorable’ and with some viewer’s votes will win the Mirror Ball trophy. I still think she will take that ugly trophy home and be Season’s 12 Dancing with the Stars Champion! More viewers vote tonight and one more dance in the final show of an amazing season 12. Check out my final blog for the results!
